THE ROLE OF TRANSACTIONAL LEADERSHIP IN ACHIEVING BUSINESS GOALS

This study explores the role of transactional leadership in achieving business goals. Objectives include: (1) evaluating the effectiveness of transactional leadership in meeting short-term objectives, (2) analyzing its impact on employee performance and compliance, and (3) assessing the relationship between transactional leadership and organizational efficiency. A survey design is employed to gather data from a wide range of respondents. Using Taro Yamane's formula, the sample size is 330, ensuring representativeness. The study is conducted in the manufacturing sector in Ogun, Nigeria, where goal-oriented leadership is essential. The reliability coefficient score is 0.86, indicating reliable results. Findings demonstrate that transactional leadership effectively drives business goals by establishing clear expectations and rewards for performance. Recommendations include balancing transactional leadership with transformational approaches to achieve both short-term and long-term objectives.
